There is a particular kind of detour that starts with “let’s see where this goes.” A side trail. A turn toward the water. A set of coordinates close enough to justify one more stop.
That curiosity is the starting point for Camp & Current. It is also why we created Field Notes.
A place for the days outside
We want this journal to be useful when you are planning an outing and good company when you are waiting for the next one. Hiking and geocaching will be at the heart of it, with room for the stories and discoveries that happen along the way.
Some days deserve a long route and an early alarm. Others only leave enough time for a walk close to home. Both belong here. You do not need an epic itinerary to have something worth remembering.
For the search, and the find
Geocaching adds a second story to a place. A park you have walked through for years becomes the setting for a search. A perfectly ordinary stump suddenly demands your full attention. Sometimes you find the container; sometimes you leave with a story about the one that got away.
That mix of curiosity and humor runs through our geocaching T-shirts. If you have ever announced “one more cache” and then changed the afternoon's plans, you will recognize the feeling.
Keep a favorite landscape close
The trip ends, but certain views stay with you. A ridge against the sky, a narrow canyon, or a trail dropping toward the coast can call up an entire day.
Our hiking poster collection is a way to make room for those places at home. Choose a landscape you know, one you hope to visit, or simply one you would like to look at while you make your next plan.
What comes next
We plan to share approachable geocaching guides, ideas for spending more time outdoors, and stories behind the places and designs in the shop. The collection will grow too, with shirts, posters, and more outdoor-inspired goods over time.
Have a favorite trail or a geocaching story you still tell? Tell us about it. We would love to hear what keeps calling you outside.
Welcome to Field Notes. There is always another place to explore.
